Goats Eat Christmas Trees?!

The other day, I saw a post on a Facebook community group from a farm looking for Christmas trees to feed to their goats. Goats and Christmas trees?? I had no idea.

I did a little Googling and, apparently, balsam and pine trees are a very good source of vitamins and nutrients for goats. The sap also helps treat any parasites they may have ingested. Pretty neat!

I’ve put together a list of local farms and organizations that are looking for Christmas Trees. Some will pick up, others accept drop-offs!

Please note, TREES

-Must still be green (and real!)
-Must be tinsel-free
-Must have no ornaments or lights
-Must be chemical-free (sprayed while growing)

Here are the farms that are looking for trees!
